Congressional Members Divided Over Trump Tariffs Despite Recent Market Uptick
President Donald Trump’s (R) new wave of tariffs has Congress divided along party lines. The division has only deepened after a rough few days in the stock market. After a loss of value, the market has begun to rise again after Trump announced that he would lower certain rates.
Congressional members from Georgia and abroad can not seem to agree on the effectiveness of these tariffs. Many of them have taken to X to express their support or criticism.
Representative Mike Collins (R) has commented multiple times on X about how this strategy is actually working. He began stating, “It pays not to be a Panican.” This was in reference to people who panic over the market taking down turns.

House Members Split Over Senate Amended Budget Resolution: 'This Country is in Need of Moral Surgery'
The House of Representatives recently passed the Senate amended budget resolution. The bill features large cuts to taxes and regulations, but its reception is mixed. Lawmakers are mostly split along party lines, especially those from Georgia.
Representative Mike Collins (R) sounded off on X about the resolution being historic. He claims it will prevent a massive tax hike and support workers.
Collins stated, “I proudly voted YES on the Budget Resolution that brings historic savings, prevents the largest tax increase in American history, and DELIVERS on promises to: Support American WORKERS, Help American small BUSINESSES, and Put MORE MONEY in your pockets.”
