Rick Jackson, the Republican nominee for Governor of Georgia, delivered a policy address in Atlanta yesterday and unveiled his new Jackson Action Plan.

The plan outlines actions for five major policy areas that he would focus on as Governor.

The First Point of the Action Plan: lower costs, reduce taxes, increase jobs, and grow opportunities.

The Republican candidate plans on accomplishing this by cutting Georgia’s income tax in half over the first term, lowering property taxes and ending hidden increases, eliminating the state income tax on tips, and ending government delays on housing.

The Second Point: build stronger schools and clear pathways for children.

This involves ensuring that every child is reading on grade level by the end of third grade, raising teacher pay, guaranteeing educational choice, tuition freezes for Georgia’s public colleges and technical schools, and clearing career pathways for every student.

The Third Point: make healthcare affordable, accessible, and accountable.

Jackson’s plan to achieve this involves closing the coverage gap through a Georgia-designed waiver that keeps work requirements, stops insurance companies from practicing medicine through care denial, requires price transparency, and expands rural access.

The Fourth Point: clean up government and restore public trust.

To achieve this, Jackson will establish a Statewide Public Corruption Unit, mandatory disclosure of conflicts and outside income, a ban on all fundraising during the legislative session, term limits, and an audit of government spending.

The Final Point: keep Georgia families safe.

With this point, the Republican candidate is vowing to back law enforcement, commit to ending child sex trafficking as a statewide mission, clear the crime lab backlogs, and address mental illness in the justice system.

What Rick Jackson had to say on his Action Plan:

  • “Georgia does not need another governor who simply wants the title. Georgia needs a governor who wants the work. Affordability is not a talking point to me; it is a crisis. This plan sets clear goals, measures what matters, and publishes the results, because Georgia families cannot pay their power bills with press releases.”
