Ossoff and Warnock’s Pushback Against Republican Budget Resolution Fails

Recently, Senate Republicans passed a budget resolution to match the resolution passed by the House. The new budget expands the tax cuts implemented in 2017 and funding for national and energy security. 

Before its passage, a number of amendments to the bill came up for vote. Notably, Senators Jon Ossoff (D) and Raphael Warnock (D) attempted to amend the bill. 

These amendments aimed to lessen the severity of cuts to services like social security. When they came up to vote, Republicans voted them down and passed the resolution as it was.

Georgia Republicans React to March Job Report 'Far Exceeding Expectations'

Despite the recent economic downturn related to the new set of tariffs, the March jobs report saw a massive increase. Over 228,000 jobs were added to the economy in March and many republicans were quick to celebrate.

Notably, a few Georgia republicans shared their opinions on X. 

To start, Representative Mike Collins shared his opinion on the report with optimism. He derided the “experts” for underselling the potential for new jobs to be added.  

Collins stated, “ New jobs report shows U.S. adds 228,000 jobs well above "expert" expectations and the first oil leases have been made under the new name: Gulf of America. It's a (good morning) for our country.”
