All eyes are on California as the state battles devastating wildfires. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) believes California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) is to blame, accusing him of having "failed" Californians.

President-elect Donald Trump (R) released a statement on social media, blaming President Joe Biden (D) and Governor Newsom for the catastrophe that Californians are facing. According to the president-elect, both Democrats are to blame for the extent of the fires because of environmentally friendly policies.

"Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way," President-elect Trump wrote on Truth social.

Other Republicans have similarly blamed the California governor, but amidst the criticism they've also offered their support.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) extended help in combatting the fires, noting that Florida would also assist in rebuilding communities.

Rep. Greene took to social media to direct blame at the incumbent president and the California governor, writing that she is "angry" that Californians have to deal with the wildfires.

"Governor Gavin Newsom failed so miserably in water and land management, and now the State of Canada is sending firefighting planes to bail him out," she wrote on X. "And while Los Angeles is burning in the Pacific Palisades fire due to horrific Democrat mismanagement, Joe Biden is set to announce half a billion dollars in additional aid to Ukraine," she added.

This, she argues, is an example of an "America Last" agenda, which she claims the incumbent president has expressed with the people of Western North Carolina, East Palestine, and Lahaina."

"Thank God President Trump won, but he has a big mess to clean up. I don’t think Californians will be putting up with Democrat “leadership” much longer," Rep. Greene concluded.

Governor Newsom has pushed back against President-elect Trump's criticism, accusing him of "playing politics."
