Former President Barack Obama is campaigning in Georgia today alongside Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Keisha Lance Bottoms just two days before early voting closes in the state.

The former president is looking to build support and give the Democratic figures a last-minute popularity boost.

Where is Former President Barack Obama campaigning specifically? The former president is campaigning in Metro Atlanta and will deliver remarks to supporters in the City of Morrow, Clayton County.

How have Republicans responded? Republican organizations and campaigns have responded to this development with nothing but criticism of President Obama and the candidates he is supporting.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) responded by criticizing the former president for elitism and Sen. Ossoff for attempting to imitate his style of speaking. According to them, Sen. Ossoff should focus more on explaining his voting record than campaigning.

The Rick Jackson for Georgia Campaign responded by claiming that the former president is simply not equipped to cover up Bottoms’ record as Mayor of Atlanta.

According to them, Rick Jackson is the only candidate capable of improving Georgia’s standard of living, and no amount of campaigning will change that.

What the NRSC had to say:

  • Via Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia: “We heard there's open seating at the Cheesecake Factory if these liberal elitists are brave enough to dine with the common folk. Ossoff might leave with a few tips on how to further mimic Obama, but he'll have a tough time explaining why he wants to tax his server's tips.”

What the Rick Jackson Campaign had to say:

  • Via Spokesman Garrison Douglas: “President Obama can’t cover up the fact that Keisha Lance Bottoms is a failed mayor who abandoned her city after making it less affordable and less safe. Rick Jackson will make our communities safer, make our lives more affordable, and create opportunity for all 11 million Georgians – no matter their zip code.”
