Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA) today announced that Hyundai Transys will invest nearly $560 million to expand its manufacturing capabilities in West Point, Georgia. The company plans to create 320 new jobs as part of its ongoing efforts to support global automotive customers with operations in North America.
How will Hyundai's capabilities be expanded? Located at 6801 Kia Parkway in West Point, the expansion will include facility upgrades to plants one and two, as well as the construction of a third plant.
The expansion will support added production capacity for electrified powertrains for hybrid vehicles. Hyundai Transys will be hiring for administrative, supervisory, and production positions.
Director of Project Implementation and Supplier Strategy Alyce Thornhill represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Global Commerce team on this competitive project in partnership with the City of West Point, Georgia Quick Start, and Georgia Power.
