Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is campaigning for Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) in Georgia as part of an effort by Democrats to gain a majority in the Senate. The Massachusetts Senator has historically been characterized as a socialist, and that seems to have been reinforced by her recent endorsements.

Who has Sen. Elizabeth Warren openly supported recently? This campaign for Sen. Ossoff comes one week after hitting the road for Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan (D-MN), who’s running for U.S. Senate in Minnesota.

She also campaigned for Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who’s currently running for U.S. Senate in Michigan. Both of these candidates are considered progressive Democrats and openly support policies confirming that to be true.

How has Sen. Warren supported Sen. Ossoff in the past? The Massachusetts Senator actually has a long history of supporting Sen. Ossoff and openly endorsed him in 2020. In January 2022, she celebrated the anniversary of Sen. Ossoff’s electoral victory and his role in helping to flip the Senate.

This activity isn’t all in the recent past, however. Just yesterday, Sen. Warren issued a statement through her official X praising Sen. Ossoff for standing up to corruption while others profit from it. She stated:

  • “While [President Trump] profits off the presidency, [Sen. Ossoff] is focused on calling out corruption that’s increasing costs for you. His opponent, Mike Collins? Too busy dodging questions about his dangerous ties to white nationalists. Georgia voters have a clear choice.”

Will this impact Ossoff’s campaign? The Georgia Senator is attempting to position himself as the moderate candidate by frequently accusing his opponent, Representative Mike Collins (R-GA), of being an extremist. With these connections in mind, though, it’s hard to know whether Georgia voters will be convinced.

Official Statement from the National Republican Senatorial Committee by way of Press Secretary Nick Puglia:

  • "Jon Ossoff is a socialist who wants to raise taxes to give illegal aliens like Laken Riley's killer free healthcare, so it's no surprise Elizabeth Warren is backing him."
