The Supreme Court of the United States recently sided with the Trump Administration on the Alien Enemies Act. The administration has been using the law as a way to facilitate the deportation of criminals and suspected gang members.

A number of Republican lawmakers have come out in support of the decision. They have framed it as a victory for law and order and the MAGA agenda.ย

Representative Mike Collins (R) gave his take on the landmark decision. He noted how the decision is significant in maintaining the checks and balances system.ย

Collins stated, โ€œOur founding fathers established a system of checks and balances to safeguard our democracy. No single rogue judge should have the power to unilaterally issue rulings that affect the whole country.โ€

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) simply celebrated the decision and congratulated the Trump team. Greene also declared it a victory for the country as a whole.

Representative Andre Clyde (R) commented on the controversy that sparked the entire case. He derided the judge that blocked the administrationโ€™s deportation orders.ย

Clyde stated, โ€œA single rogue judge should NOT have the authority to unilaterally impose nationwide injunctions to obstruct President Trumpโ€™s agenda.โ€

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr celebrated the decision as a victory for the President and Attorney Generals across the country.

Carr stated, โ€œThe U.S. Supreme Court sides with (the President) & our AG coalition allowing for the continued deportation of violent noncitizen Tren de Aragua gang members. This is a major victory for common sense & the rule of law. Proud to stand with the Trump White House to ensure the safety of our families & communities.โ€

Alongside these Georgia officials, House Speaker Mike Johnson celebrated the decision as victory for rule of law. He framed the issue as pertaining to public safety.

Johnson stated on X, โ€œWe are MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN! Tonight SCOTUS ruled with the Trump Administration vacating the stays that prevented the deportation of dangerous criminal gang members. This decision is a victory for the rule of law and allows President Trump to continue to protect Americans.โ€
