Today, the Rick Jackson campaign for Governor released a new 30-second television ad called “Soul,” the campaign's first of the general election to feature Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA).
The ad begins airing statewide today.
What does Gov. Brian Kemp have to say in this ad? In “Soul,” Gov. Kemp makes the case for electing Jackson in his own words. He states:
- “This election is a fight for the soul of our state. We need to remember what we have been doing. We've given Georgians tax rebates, cut the state income tax, suspended the gas tax.”
The Governor then states that Jackson is the only candidate capable of carrying his work forward.
He continues:
- “Rick Jackson is the person to get that job done. Rick knows what it's like to struggle, to wake up and not know where your next meal is coming from. Even though we've made so much progress, he knows there is more work to do.”
In closing out the ad, Gov. Kemp states:
- "Everything is on the line. We need Rick Jackson.”
Is the release of this ad strategically timed? The ad arrives the same week that Gov. Kemp suspended the state gas tax for 30 days as fuel prices climbed.
Rick Jackson's Action Plan builds on that record with a commitment to cut the state income tax in half over his first term, lower the property tax burden and end hidden increases, eliminate the state income tax on tips, and suspend the state gas tax during major price shocks.
What the Rick Jackson campaign had to say:
- Rick Jackson via his Official X: “Georgia gave me a chance. Now, I’m running to take everything I’ve lived, learned, and built – and put it to work to help others.”
- Garrison Douglas, Rick Jackson Campaign Spokesman: “Governor Kemp has spent nearly eight years keeping more money in the pockets of hardworking Georgians, and he knows Rick Jackson is the leader who will build on that progress instead of letting Keisha Lance Bottoms bring the failed record of Atlanta City Hall to the rest of our state.”
