A new YouGov survey shows Rick Jackson leading Keisha Lance Bottoms 47% to 44% among likely Georgia voters, a lead outside the poll's margin of error. The survey of 3,073 likely voters was conducted September 15-18 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 points.
Is this a new lead or a continued streak for the Republican candidate? The result marks the second independent poll in a week to put Jackson ahead, following last week's Rasmussen Reports survey, which showed him leading 48% to Bottoms’ 45%.
Do the odds reflect the polling? Strangely enough, the polling numbers and the odds on trading markets like Kalshi and Polymarket are out of sync. According to both Polymarket and Kalshi, Keisha Lance Bottoms is far more likely to win the governorship and leads in the odds by at least 10%.
What key figures had to say:
- Rick Jackson via his Official X: “Our movement is growing stronger because it's built by hardworking Georgians who love this state and are ready to fight for its future. But our work is far from finished. Let's win this race, keep Georgia moving forward, and build a future worthy of the people who call this great state home!”
- Garrison Douglas, Campaign Spokesman: “Keisha Lance Bottoms is failing in this campaign the same way she failed as Mayor. She quit City Hall after one term with nothing to show for it, and now she is asking for Georgians’ trust while she hides her own multi-million-dollar client list. Georgians can tell the difference between a businessman who built something and a politician who is hiding something, and these numbers show it.”
What is the state of both campaigns? Both campaigns have attempted to maintain a high level of activity, but the Rick Jackson campaign is likely to leave more of an impression among voters.
Its $87 million advertising campaign is in full swing, and the campaign has taken to investing in interesting tactics like its recently branded “luxury car service” that aims at Bottoms’ record of using taxpayer funding.
