President Donald Trump visited Marietta, Georgia, yesterday to promote his economic policies and campaign for Georgia Republicans heading into the midterm elections.
The rally centered on the President’s “Trump Accounts,” tax-advantaged savings accounts that grant $1,000 to each child born in his second term.
What did President Donald Trump have to say about Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA)? President Trump first slammed the Senator for being out of touch with Georgians and being far more aligned with congressional Democrats.
He then went further, claiming that Sen. Ossoff intends to empower Marxists, open up the borders, and bankrupt Georgia families. He stated:
- "Jon Ossoff and the [Democrat] communists want to let the Marxists into power, bankrupt your families, and leave you totally undefended with wide open borders. But we will not let that happen to our country."
President Trump then targeted Sen. Ossoff’s congressional voting record, claiming that he voted against border security, tax cuts, and his now-touted Trump Accounts. He stated:
- "Jon Ossoff and the Congressional [Democrats] voted against securing our border; they voted against our massive tax cuts that you have, they voted against the Trump Accounts for your children. They want to raise your taxes by a lot, not lower them."
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) promoted these statements on X and issued their own statement lambasting the Senator in the same way. NRSC Press Secretary Nick Puglia stated:
- "Jon Ossoff voted to raise Georgians' taxes and block a generational investment in the future of every Georgia child all because Ossoff puts his Democrat Party loyalty first."
What did the President have to say about Representative Mike Collins (R-GA)? The President first thanked him for supporting his America First agenda and explained why he was unable to attend the rally.
Apparently, the President asked Rep. Collins to remain in Washington for a series of important votes, and Rep. Collins agreed, confirming this with a video posted to X. He stated:
- “We have already accomplished so much — but the job is not finished. While I wish I could be standing with the President today in Cobb County, the people of Georgia need me here in D.C. to make their voice heard.”
