During National Police Week, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) launched a new digital ad highlighting President Trump and Senate Republicans' work to combat Senator Jon Ossoff’s (D-GA) democratic policy.

The ad begins by attributing the recent decline in violent crime to Republicans, but warns that Sen. Ossoff intends to reverse this trend.

The voice-over states, “But Jon Ossoff wants to turn back the clock and bring back Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer's pro-crime agenda that vilifies law enforcement, denies them crucial resources, and prioritizes dangerous illegal immigrants.”

The ad then concludes, “America can't afford another Democrat crime wave. Reject Jon Ossoff, and stop the anti-police agenda.”

When the NRSC describes Sen. Ossoff as working to implement a pro-crime agenda, they are drawing on several instances of controversial behavior.

For example, the Senator expressed outrage over the death of protester Alex Pretti at the hands Customs and Border Protection agents. He went so far as to call out the Republican candidates running to replace him for not commenting on Pretti's death.

However, Republicans have criticized Sen. Ossoff for failing to comment on the death of Laken Riley and for not committing to support the Laken Riley Act, a bill they argue would have prevented her death.

When running for Senate in 2020, Ossoff also lambasted the "militarization" of the police and pledged to support police reform proposed by his democratic colleagues.

Additional Statement

NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia released a statement alongside the digital ad, lambasting the Georgia Senator for wanting to "protect" criminal illegal immigrants.

According to Puglia, Sen. Ossoff protects criminal illegals by restricting law enforcement capability and preventing deportation.

"Jon Ossoff wants to protect criminal illegals like Laken Riley’s killer from deportation and hamstring law enforcement’s ability to keep Georgians safe. Ossoff puts criminal illegals first in D.C. and Georgians’ safety last back home," said Puglia.
