Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who once considered herself “a General in the MAGA Army,” now claims that “MAGA is dead” in an explosive speech for the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity.

The Ron Paul Institute recently hosted an event called War is Back on the Menu, which featured several speakers, including the former Georgia lawmaker.

Rep. Taylor Greene, who once staunchly supported the president, has now become one of his most vocal critics, leading the charge against the president and his recent controversies, including the Epstein Files and the war in the Middle East.

During her remarks on May 2, 2026, she recounted her shock at being asked to “back off” from supporting the discharge to release the Epstein Files, noting that the president’s lack of support signaled the end to the “MAGA” movement.

“The President didn’t want to release the Epstein Files. He told everybody ‘don’t release the Epstein Files,’” Rep. Taylor Greene shared. “To actually be asked by the President of the United States to back off and not help these women, that’s when MAGA died.”

Rep. Taylor Greene shocked the audience by claiming that in a series of text messages with the president, he suggested that her support for the discharge could lead to the death of a loved one, adding that it would be justified.

“If my son gets killed, I deserve it because I was a traitor to him,” she said, noting that she still has the text messages from President Trump.

After the 2024 presidential election, the Georgia lawmaker felt empowered that Republicans would be able to deliver “the great campaign promises that we made to the American people for year." However, after the first quarter, she said that things went downhill, saying, “The momentum slowed down.”

"MAGA was killed by Donald Trump... MAGA went from being words and promises, but when it came time to put it into real action, the actions is what killed it," she argued. "Do you want to know who took the actions to kill MAGA? It was the creator and founder himself, Donald Trump."
