Georgia Senator and candidate for lieutenant governor, Greg Dolezal, took aim at Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for her behavior during questioning over her prosecution of Trump in which she indicted Trump for attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

The questioning took place before a Republican-led state Senate committee panel in December.

The charges were ultimately dismissed after a judge determined successful prosecution of Trump would be nearly impossible while he was in office.

Willis' case started to fall apart after her romantic relationship with lead prosecutor Nathan Wade, who she appointed to work on the case, came to light, which many argued constituted a conflict of interest. She was removed from the case in 2024.

Georgia Republicans have long criticized the case for its cost to Georgia's taxpayers as they are left on the hook for litigation and attorney fees. During the four-hour testimony in which the Senate panel grilled Willis about her relationship with Wade, why she decided to bring the case against Trump, and how much the case costed to prosecute.

Dolezal, who served on the panel, asked Willis several questions about Wade's compensations and professional experience. Dolezal also accused Willis of planning to indict Trump before she took office on Jan. 1, 2021.

Willis said she didn't remember many of the details about the things Dolezal asked about.

In April, Dolezal released a series of posts on X denouncing her alleged defensive and uncooperative behavior during the testimony.

In one post, on April 9, Dolezal called Willis an "unhinged lunatic—dodging questions, lashing out, refusing to answer straight."

A day later, he posted a clip from a news appearance, in which he said, "She couldn't remember anything as it related to the case."

He also said the prosecution was for personal profit, and Wade was making hundreds of thousands of dollars on the case.

"I've never seen anything like it in my life," he added.

He posted about Willis again on April 12.
