Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA) announced that Glytec, a major health tech company, will relocate its headquarters to Cobb County, adding 500 new jobs over the next several years.
Gov. Kemp attributed this development to Georgia’s reputation as the Number 1 state for business in the country, expressing excitement for Cobb County, which will receive the bulk of the new investment.
“Georgia’s skilled workforce and business-friendly approach have fostered success for global healthcare technologies like Glytec, making the Peach State an international hub of innovation and growth in this field,” said Gov. Kemp in a statement. “This particular project will add high-paying jobs in Cobb County while serving as another reminder of Georgia’s status as the No. 1 state for business.”
Glytec and its Background
Founded in Georgia by a licensed endocrinologist, Glytec is a rapidly growing healthcare information technology company and global leader in software and services managing insulin levels for diabetic patients in hospitals.
The company’s new global headquarters will be located at 2300 Windy Ridge Parkway near Cumberland. Initial local spending on fitting out the headquarters is estimated at $100,000, with significantly larger expenditures on real estate and capital as growth continues.
Glytec is currently leading the industry with its utilization of artificial intelligence and services over 400 hospitals by optimizing clinical workflows.
Glytec CEO Patrick Cua discussed this announcement and characterized it as a kind of circular development. Glytec was originally founded by a Georgia physician, so it’s only natural for it to return home.
“Georgia was the clear winner of our selection process for the growth stage of our company due to its favorable business environment, world-class global connectivity, and high quality of living for our employees,” Cua noted.
Proud to announce that major health tech company @Glytec is relocating its HQ to Cobb County! This project will bring high-paying jobs for Georgians as we further the Peach State's reputation as a true hub of innovation.https://t.co/6yN5hzrn9B
