Jon Ossoff Remains Silent on the Arrest of Nicolas Maduro

“By refusing to welcome Maduro's arrest, Ossoff is once again putting his hatred for President Trump and the radical left's agenda above standing with Georgia victims of his failed policies.”

Days after the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) has yet to release a statement. This is in stark contrast to lawmakers from both sides of the aisle who have come out either in support of or in criticism of the Trump Administration’s decisive action.

His senatorial colleague, Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) has commented on the issue, but Ossoff’s senatorial X account hasn’t posted anything since December 16, 2025. His personal account has only recently posted about the fifth anniversary of his inauguration.

Due to the senator's silence, he has come under heavy criticism from the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Nick Puglia, the NRSC press secretary, commented on Ossoff’s silence, slamming him for refusing to put 'America First' and support policies like the Laken Riley Act.

“Laken Riley would still be alive if not for Jon Ossoff and Joe Biden failing to bring Nicolas Maduro to justice or ending their open border policies,” Puglia stated. “By refusing to welcome Maduro's arrest, Ossoff is once again putting his hatred for President Trump and the radical left's agenda above standing with Georgia victims of his failed policies.”

Puglia also commented on Ossoff’s anniversary X post, criticizing him for failing to address his constituents and keep Georgians like Laken Riley safe.
