Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has broken her silence on the upcoming special election to replace her. In a lengthy post on X, the Georgia Republican responded to Republican candidate Brian Stover, who stated that he would distance himself from Greene’s behavior.
Stover first clarified how he would be different by affirming his allegiance to President Donald Trump. He stated, “I’ll 100% be his ally. I’m not here to fight with President Trump.” This is in stark contrast to Greene’s recent public disagreements with the President over issues like the Epstein Files and the H-1B visa program.
Stover shared that he would take a different approach to media and messaging. “I'm the kind of guy that likes to work in the background to get things done. I want to work at 5 o'clock in the morning when everybody's asleep, and I want to be working at 10 o'clock when everybody is going home,” he said.
The Representative interpreted Stover's comments to mean that he would not be like her whatsoever. She questioned this position with numerous examples.
She first appealed to the release of the Epstein Files, asking, “So if you’re saying you won’t be like me, are you saying you will just be a 'yes man' to the President even when it comes down to covering up crimes of raping underage girls and protecting the elites?”
She also appealed to the passage of her Protect Children’s Innocence Act, questioning, “So if you are saying you won’t be like me, are you saying you will just be a party 'yes man' and never go against leadership in order to fight to protect kids?”
Greene concluded that if someone is running to replace her, then they need to run for the people of her district, not the Republican Party. To her, it's unacceptable for someone to tow the party line rather than work for their constituents' interests.
The Special Election in GA-14 to replace me in Congress is underway. I’ve heard a potential Republican candidate say “I’m not going to be like MTG”, here’s what that means.
I was one of only 4 Republicans that signed my name on a discharge petition to force the House to vote on…
