Governor Brian Kemp’s (R-GA) economic mission to Japan continues with the state delegation meeting with more companies across the country. These companies all have a stake in Georgia’s financial and industrial sectors, but contribute to the state in different ways.
The delegation first met with Yamaha, a corporation operating in Cobb County that produces all-terrain vehicles. What’s notable is that the corporation produced 150,000 just in the year 2024 from the town of Newnan, GA.
Yamaha is a successful corporation operating in both Newnan and Cobb County. Most of the world's Yamaha ATVs are assembled in Newnan, and they assembled over 150,000 vehicles there in 2024 alone. They then met with representatives from the Japanese branch of the company, Aflac. The company is based in Georgia, but a quarter of Japanese households have an Aflac insurance policy.
Japan is a key market for one of our Georgia-based global companies, @Aflac. An estimated 1 in 4 households in Japan has an Aflac policy. We were honored to meet with the Tokyo office and support this local company as they do business around the world. pic.twitter.com/S25894xVuX

The delegation met with the Rinnai corporation, known for producing water heaters and moving its headquarters to Georgia in 1987. Finally, the delegation met with leaders from the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group that specializes in producing heavy equipment for the energy industry.
We enjoyed our meeting with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group today, closing out our time in Japan. Their work in the energy industry in North and South America is exponential. They provide turbines and equipment that is necessary for many companies to operate. pic.twitter.com/XW7LNAvd9b
