Former State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller recently revealed that Israel purposefully sabotaged multiple attempts to create a ceasefire with Hamas during the Biden era.
During an interview with an Israeli outlet, Miller cited an April 2024 incident, sharing that it took place shortly after President Biden openly spoke about a new ceasefire proposal. To sabotage this, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to invade the Rafah region.
Netanyahu claimed shortly after that this proposal was different from the one that he had agreed to. Miller claims that this kind of public disagreement was often used to create uncertainty within Hamas, discouraging them from negotiating.
He commented on why this was never publicized, stating, “There were times that we very much wanted to go public and make clear that we thought the prime minister was being completely intransigent and making it tougher to get a deal, but we discussed it amongst ourselves, and we made the decision that it wouldn’t accomplish anything.”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) released a statement on the concern, commenting on the need to abandon this "America Last" approach. She argued that Miller’s comments were worth looking into, even though she doesn’t agree with some of the commentary associated with them.
She also restated her condemnation of the October 7th terrorist attacks and the ongoing offensive war in Gaza. For context, Greene hates being grouped in with other people on this issue, so she makes it a point to restate this as much as possible.
The Representative noted that her focus is on policy that is ‘America Only.’ She stated, “it’s becoming increasingly clear that no matter which party is in charge, the secular government of Israel always gets its way.” “And that obvious fact is what myself and now the majority of Americans see as a problem,” Greene added. “We don’t want to fight foreign wars anymore and we don’t want to pay for them.”
To Greene, concentrating on domestic issues like the rising cost of living and national debt is far more important than contributing to Israel’s ambitions. She demands change, and she sees it coming in the form of extreme distaste for ‘America Last’ policy.
This is worth a watch, even though I don’t agree with every sentiment said.
I continue to condemn what happened on Oct 7th and at the same time I continue to condemn the genocide/ethnic cleansing happening in Gaza.
And, I condemn America being used as the big brother bully and… https://t.co/GiuFw7f3ox
