Georgia Republicans are outraged over the gruesome death of Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian woman killed on public transportation in Charlotte, North Carolina. Zarutska was stabbed to death multiple times by a man identified as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., a career criminal who was let out of jail fourteen times by a magistrate judge.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) expressed frustration over the incident and blamed the people who failed to help Zarutska after she was stabbed.

Greene also blamed the justice system, stating, “The murder of Iryna Zerutska shows the courts failed and allowed this monster out of jail, but also the love of most had grown cold. What has happened to America???”

Rep. Andrew Clyde (R) concurred with this sentiment and went further, explicitly blaming liberal politicians, prosecutors, and judges.

Clyde then demanded that Zarutska’s name be recognized and stated, “Enough is enough. America needs law and order—and only Republicans will deliver it.”

Rep. Mike Collins (R) focused on the perpetrator of the incident, commenting that criminals who face competency problems are simply too dangerous to be on the streets.

Collins has had it with the coddling of dangerous criminals, stating, “We cannot continue ceding control of public spaces to dangerous criminals for the sole sake of protecting dangerous criminals. It’s that simple.”

Rep. Buddy Carter (R) remarked on Zarustska’s innocence and commented on the fact that Brown Jr. had a record of being in and out of jail.

Carter also commented on the brutal irony of the situation, stating, “She escaped war in Ukraine only to be killed because Democrat governors and mayors let repeat offenders run free.”

Finally, Attorney General Chris Carr (R) concurred with Carter, focusing on the innocence of Zarutska and the criminal record of Brown Jr. Carr also questioned how severe crime in this country has to be before meaningful change occurs.

He stated, “How many more lives must be lost before violent criminals are kept behind bars where they belong? We have to do better.”
