In an exclusive interview with Dome Politics, Representative Rich McCormick (R) discussed the controversy around the Epstein Files and its relevance to current issues, expressing his support for the House Oversight Committee's investigation but urging caution when naming those who may not be directly involved.

Rep. McCormick was first asked about how Democrats have used the Epstein Files as a way to bash the Trump Administration. He responded by explaining that the issue is truly non-partisan and no one side is free from implication.

McCormick then confirmed that he actually looks forward to the truth being exposed, stating, “I really am one of those kinds of people who believe that whatever is exposed should be exposed.”

He warned, however, that reputations are on the line and people shouldn’t be maligned or accused of wrongdoing simply for attending the same party as Jeffrey Epstein. He elaborated on this point, stating, “So I think they have to be selective about who’s actually accused of a crime versus who actually saw Epstein at some time or another.”

The Representative then moved on to discuss what the general public is actually concerned about. He listed the job market, the housing market, inflation, and the development of artificial intelligence as issues that actually affect people and demand solutions.

McCormick also listed education, the cost of healthcare, and the price of groceries as issues of much higher priority. He declared, “There are tons of things that people are more concerned about than the Epstein Files, I promise you.”

Finally, he expressed support for the investigation by the House Oversight Committee into the Epstein Files that recently began after they subpoenaed the Justice Department. The Committee gained access to flight logs, court filings, surveillance footage, redacted records, and memos. McCormick has faith in the investigation and looks forward to the truth coming to light.
