Representative Buddy Carter (R) has introduced a resolution to the House censuring Representative Rashida Tlaib (D) for her remarks at the People’s Conference for Palestine. Attendees of the conference cheered on terrorism against the state of Israel and the Jewish people and called for the United States to be neutralized.
The conference took place in Detroit, Michigan, and featured the same pro-terror and anti-American rhetoric that it has for the past few years. The event was entirely centered on the supposed genocide that is taking place in Gaza.
Speakers focused on the destruction of infrastructure, the death of journalists, and the provision of medical aid within Gaza. Their solutions to these issues are nothing short of radical.
Popular streamer Hasan Piker called for the complete removal of Israeli presence from campuses and the complete severance of the U.S.’s ties to Israel. Progressive International research coordinator Sachin Peddada called for the idea of America to be destroyed so that Israel’s image could be taken down by proxy.
When Tlaib got her chance to speak, she condemned both Republicans and Democrats for continuing to support Israel. Going further, the Michigan Representative slammed Congress, calling it the “decaying halls of the empire in Washington D.C.”
This was all too extreme for Carter and his resolution targets Tlaib for both her comments at the conference and her long record of antisemitic remarks. He also accused her of vilifying fellow congressmen, endangering Jewish people, and celebrating terror.
“Tlaib’s vile, blatant antisemitism is a scourge on this Congress, and she must be held accountable. Her conduct is beneath that of a civilized person, let alone a member of Congress,” Carter commented. “I am calling on the House of Representatives to censure her remarks and put democrats on notice for enabling and cheering on antisemitism in their own party.”
He went further when he discussed the situation on Fox News, claiming that Tlaib behaved in an uncivilized manner. Carter is obviously sick of this behavior and rhetoric and he called on the Democratic party to discipline its unruly members.
He commented on X, “Tlaib’s vile antisemitism exposes the truth about the Democrat Party - celebrating terrorism at the expense of Jewish people’s safety.”
