Governor Kemp’s activity has been remarkable as of recently with signing important bills and making the rounds in Georgia. This time he made sure to attend the opening of a new facility at Georgia Tech University. He also attended the opening of a new headquarters for the Department of Public Safety.

First, GA Tech opened a new atrium on their campus. The atrium is designed to act as a hub for research and innovation.

It offers access to hands-on workshops, specialized research facilities, industry partnerships, and networking opportunities. The atrium adds hands-on and practical opportunities to GA Tech’s higher education model.

Governor Kemp attended the opening of the atrium with community leaders and GA Tech representatives.

Kemp commented on X, “Was great to join leaders from (GA Tech) and (Peachtree Corners) yesterday to celebrate the opening of the new Georgia Tech Atrium. We’re excited for this facility to provide even more access to innovation for our state’s growing economy!”

Second, the GA Dep. of Public Safety opened up a new on-site hangar for the aviation division. The hangar houses new helicopters and serves as a central hub covering the metro Atlanta area.

The aviation unit will now be more equipped to respond to events like natural disasters and fugitive searches.

Kemp commented on X, “This division is one of the most equipped of its kind in the nation and an incredible asset in our ongoing crime suppression efforts, as well as other key operations that keep Georgians safe. This new facility will only further improve DPS’ ability to protect our state!”

Lt. Gov. Burt Jones chimed in on X to discuss just how important this new hangar will be. He lauded the new hangar as a critical investment to ensure public safety.

Jones stated, “This critical investment is a testament to our unwavering support for law enforcement. We will always stand for those who sacrifice so much to keep our communities, and our state, safe.”
