After a tragic incident occurred involving four American soldiers in Lithuania, Georgia lawmakers expressed their thoughts. It was reported that the four soldiers had been confirmed dead after an accident with a submerged vehicle.
Senator Raphael Warnock (D) expressed his mourning on X. He noted the impact of this loss on Georgia in particular.
Warnock commented, “The loss of these four Soldiers is devastating. I am praying for their families and Georgia’s military community as we mourn these courageous Soldiers.”
Representative Buddy Carter (R) also came out on X to express his mourning. He noted how important it is to remember the sacrifice of our service members.
Carter stated, “My heart breaks for the American lives lost in Lithuania. Our service members sacrifice daily to protect our freedoms, and three of the 3rd ID’s brave soldiers have, sadly, paid the ultimate price. Thank you to those continuing search and recovery operations for the soldier who remains missing.”
Finally, Lt. Governor Burt Jones (R) shared his thoughts on the situation. Jones called for all Georgians to pray on the situation and uplift everyone impacted by it.
Jones commented, “Jan and I are praying for the families, loved ones and fellow soldiers of the four soldiers who tragically lost their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice. We ask all Georgians to join us in prayer to uplift everyone impacted.”
It is important to note, as of a recent update, that the four soldiers have not been confirmed dead anymore. NATO has come out with a statement that the soldiers have instead been reported as missing.
Nevertheless, the attention that Georgia lawmakers brought to this issue is commendable.
