Lt. Governor Burt Jones (R-GA) recently joined Vice President JD Vance and other leaders at the This is the Turning Point Tour at UGA event in Athens, Georgia.

At the event, Lt. Governor Jones highlighted the final passage of the True Patriotism and Universal Student Access (TPUSA) Act. He then received an endorsement from Vice President Vance in his race for governor.

Lt. Governor Jones posted a video of himself and Vice President Vance at the event, thanking him for appearing and showing support. The Vice President affirmed his love for Georgia and the Lt. Governor, calling for Georgians to ‘get out and vote for him.’

Vice President Vance stated that Jones would be the next governor of Georgia, affirming the resounding endorsement.

Despite that, Jones's campaign has not promoted the endorsement. Jones, instead, continues to emphasize his endorsement from President Trump. An endorsement from the Vice President is the second most important endorsement any Republican candidate can get, especially for a competitive race.

Jones's Remarks

At the event, Jones delivered remarks, celebrating the Georgia Senate’s passage of the TPUSA Act. He clarified the purpose of the bill and praised the work of Charlie Kirk to evangelize and spread conservative values.

Jones previously hailed this legislation as a priority for this year’s legislative session and actively worked to ensure its success.

“The TPUSA Act is inspired by Charlie Kirk’s brave efforts to bring both the Word of God and the truth of conservative values to school campuses across America, through open discussion and debate in public forums,” Jones stated. “Georgia is leading the charge as the first state to pass TPUSA legislation, ensuring that Georgia students’ First Amendment rights to organize, gather, and speak are protected, regardless of their religious, political, or social viewpoints or those of school administrators.”
