Representative Rich McCormick (R-GA07) today joined the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, one of Congress’s most critical committees tasked with ensuring the American people transparency, efficiency, and accountability across the federal government.
In a statement, Rep. McCormick expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity. He outlined the importance of the committee, noting its role in rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse by the federal government.
"I am honored to join the House Oversight Committee and take on the responsibility of holding our federal government accountable to the American people,” said Rep. McCormick. “My bill, the Incentivize Savings Act, was approved through the committee and has the potential to be transformative in the way government bureaucracies and the military spend money."
"This committee plays a crucial role in rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse while ensuring federal agencies are serving the public effectively and efficiently."
McCormick's Appointments
Rep. McCormick will also continue to serve on the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation.
While serving on these committees, the representative will focus on strengthening federal cybersecurity, modernizing government systems, and improving the efficiency of federal technology infrastructure.
For context, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has broad jurisdiction to investigate any matter within the scope of federal authority. This makes it a key platform for advancing government transparency and reform.
Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) congratulated Rep. McCormick on this appointment and praised him as a "fierce advocate" for the American taxpayer.
“We’re pleased to welcome Rep. McCormick to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee,” Chairman Comer stated. “A fierce advocate for American taxpayers, he will be instrumental in our fight to root out waste, fraud, and abuse and make the federal government more efficient and accountable.”
Proud to join @GOPoversight and serve on the Cybersecurity, IT, and Government Innovation Subcommittee. Ready to get to work rooting out waste and strengthening our federal systems. 💪🏻https://t.co/5A9Ov4VyjW
