Former state Senator Nabilah Parkes, a candidate in the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor, called Republican candidate and state Senator Greg Dolezal a coward in an April 17, 2026, X post.
Greg Dolezal wants us to think he’s a tough guy, but he’s just a coward. When I approached him on the floor of the Senate about his previous anti-Muslim ad, he couldn’t even look me in the eye. He thinks he can win this race through racist innuendo, but this won’t fly in Georgia… https://t.co/iQduvv6oum

This comes after Dolezal recieved backlash from both parties for running a campaign video depicting Muslims terrorizing Georgians.
While both still serve in the state Senate, Parkes confronted Sen. Dolezal about the ad and has since criticized him online for his defense of it.
"He's going to be pretty embarrassed when he loses to a Muslim woman," she wrote in the social media post.
In an X post on Monday, Parkes took a shot at the general Republican Party as well.
Georgia Republicans aren’t focused on lowering your bills or helping you get better healthcare coverage…instead they’re focused on culture wars and attacking our fundamental freedoms. Their 20 years of controlling our state is plenty of proof.

"Georgia Republicans aren’t focused on lowering your bills or helping you get better healthcare coverage," she wrote in the caption. "Instead they’re focused on culture wars and attacking our fundamental freedoms."
She pledged to fight against "MAGA's extreme agenda" if elected to the second-in-command of the state. With Governor Brian Kemp out of terms, and Lt. Gov. Burt Jones vying to replace him, the elections for Georgia's two highest posts are both incumbent-free.
Early voting for the primaries for both races is set to begin next Monday, April 27, and run through May 15, with regular voting on May 19.
