Representative Brian Jack (R-GA03) recently visited the University of West Georgia (UWG) to announce $637,520 in a new investment secured through the federal government’s Community Development Fund. The funding will be used for safety and infrastructure improvements on campus.
While delivering remarks to university staff, Rep. Jack expressed pride in representing the people of Carroll County. He praised UWG for its growth and emphasized the need to secure and strengthen the environment of tomorrow’s workforce.
“I am honored to deliver a $637,520 federal investment in safety and infrastructure improvements on the campus of the University of West Georgia,” Rep. Jack stated. “Under the leadership of its new president, Dr. Michael Johnson – a U.S. Marine Corps veteran – the University of West Georgia is one of the fastest-growing universities in Georgia.”
“I am immensely proud to represent the West Georgia Wolves and the Carroll County community in Congress, and this federal partnership will ensure the future leaders of Georgia and our Country enjoy a safe and secure environment as they prepare to be the workforce of tomorrow,” he continued.
The Funding
On February 3, 2026, President Donald Trump signed into law House Resolution 7148, also known as the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026. Through this legislation, Rep. Jack was able to work with President Trump and deliver this investment to Carroll County.
For context, this bill provided appropriations to several federal departments and agencies for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2026 and provided continuing appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security through February 13, 2026.
The new funding for Carroll County will support the Love Valley Stormwater Pipe Replacement, a critical infrastructure project to repair a deteriorating 2,000-foot drainage system. This system runs beneath one of the most heavily trafficked areas of the UWG's campus in Carrollton.
