Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and his wife Marty Kemp joined Senate candidate Derek Dooley on his "Georgia First" tour campaigning to replace Democrat Jon Ossoff in the U.S. Senate.

First Lady Kemp endorsed Dooley as the Republican candidate in an X post in December.

The campaign tour started Monday in Camden County and wrapped up in Bulloch County Wednesday.

In an X post, Dooley, whose campaign heavily emphasizes his political outsider status, said the tour will hold him accountable to the people of Georgia.

Dooley has repeatedly called for Georgians to head to the polls in November to fire incumbent Sen. Ossoff to return common sense leadership to the position, but Dooley must face a crowded Republican primary in May, before moving on to the general election.

Despite Kemp's endorsement of Dooley, U.S. Rep. Mike Collins has consistently been ahead in the polls for the GOP primary, describing himself as the "conservative workhorse."
