Representative Andrew Clyde (R-GA09) has endorsed Lt. Governor Burt Jones (R-GA) for governor, calling him an "incredible candidate."

The race remains highly competitive, and candidates are seeking every possible advantage, including endorsements from prominent figures.

In his endorsement, Rep. Clyde called the Lt. Governor an "incredible candidate" and praised him for having a "solid conservative record." Supporters argue that Lt. Governor Jones' record has been proven beyond a doubt.

Rep. Clyde explained how anybody can claim to have this kind of record, asserting that Lt. Gov. Jones is the only one who can back it up. He also cited President Trump’s endorsement of the Lt. Governor as further evidence and urged voters to support him in the upcoming primary.

In response to the endorsement, Lt. Gov. Jones thanked Rep. Clyde, praising him for being a "true conservative" who fights for his district every day. He framed this as the next step towards building a strong conservative coalition and keeping Georgia Republican after the November election.

Jones vs. Jackson

This endorsement also follows recent high-profile endorsements of Jones’s number one rival, Rick Jackson. First, the outsider candidate received resounding support from Public Service Commissioner Lauren ‘Bubba’ McDonald (R-04).

McDonald’s endorsement is significant as he was the first statewide elected official to endorse President Trump in 2016. He celebrated the fact that he could do the same with Jackson.

Jackson then received a resounding endorsement from Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. According to Gingrich, Jackson has saved thousands of lives through his Christian organization and is fully committed to representing the people against political insiders.
