NumbersUSA has given the State of Georgia a ‘C’ grade based on the performance of its congress regarding immigration

NumbersUSA engages in public policy advocacy and is primarily focused on achieving a sensible immigration policy. The group seeks to ensure the safety of Americans and a greater sense of economic fairness.

It grades lawmakers based on their legislative activity, and Georgia’s grade is based on a mixed bag of congressional activity. The grades are based on smaller scores across categories like reducing chain migration, reducing the visa lottery, and limiting birthright citizenship.

Each member of congress is given a number grade, which is then translated into a letter grade for simplicity. For example, Representative Mike Collins (R-GA) received a 100% and an A+ because he supported every single bill introduced to reform immigration.

On the other hand, Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) received a 5% and an F- because he only supported seven reforms. For example, Warnock voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act, but he refused to support some of its enhancing amendments.

Notably, Representative Hank Johnson (D-GA) received the absolute lowest grade of 0% and an F- after failing to support a single immigration reform, including the Laken Riley Act.

Georgia Republican members of congress received the following grades:

  • Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA10) A+
  • Rep. Brian Jack (R-GA03) A
  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA14) B+
  • Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA09) B
  • Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA01) B
  • Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA07) B
  • Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA08) B
  • Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA11) B-
  • Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA12) C+

Georgia Democratic members of congress received the following grades:

  • Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) D
  • Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA06) D
  • Rep. Sandford Bishop (D-GA02) F
  • Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) F-
  • Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA05) F-
  • Rep. Davic Scott (D-GA13) F-
  • Rep. Henry Johnson (D-GA04) F-

All Republicans passed, even though there was more distribution among their grades, ranging from A+ to C+. Not a single Georgia Democrat received a passing grade, with most of them receiving the lowest possible grade, an F-.
