Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) continues to break with the Republican Party after calling out Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for "breaking his promises" and refusing to move forward with key legislation.

Greene first made a statement on X, claiming that Johnson promised conservatives that he would insert key provisions into the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). These provisions were intended to close loopholes related to central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

According to Greene, Johnson never followed through with this promise, and those loopholes still exist. She then stated that this behavior is "usual," insinuating that Johnson has a habit of making false promises.

The Georgia Representative then made a statement concerning her bill, titled the Protect Children’s Innocence Act, also known as House Resolution 3492. According to Greene, she was promised by both Johnson and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) that the bill would be brought to the floor after the shutdown ended.

The bill has passed out of committee, but hasn’t been brought to the floor for a vote. As far as Greene is concerned, this is another broken promise, and she has now enlisted the help of followers on X to call on Johnson and Scalise to act on this bill. To her, Americans deserve to see their representatives vote on this issue, because of how crucial it has become.
