Elections are underway in Georgia as voters decide who will compose the Public Service Commissioners (PSC). General elections are also underway, but at the Municipal level, where Georgians will vote on their local officials.
Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA) and Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones (R-GA) have a stake in the special elections concerning the PSC seats. Both have come out on X to show their support and formally endorse the incumbents: Commissioners Tim Echols and Fitz Johnson.
Kemp came out on the last day of the early voting season, urging voters to take this race seriously. He made it clear that if Democrats were to take these seats, then energy rates would increase.
It’s the last day to vote early in the Public Service Commission race. We cannot allow the Democrats to take these seats and raise our energy rates! Make sure to get out and vote for @timechols and @FriendsForFitz today or on Election Day.

The Governor followed this up with another statement and an appearance on the Shelley Wynter Show, urging voters to head to the polls and vote. He emphasized that voting is the only way to prevent California’s energy policies from taking hold in Georgia.
Be sure to make a plan to vote for @timechols and @FriendsForFitz in tomorrow's statewide Public Service
Commission race!Tim and Fitz are keeping our energy costs stable, our power grid reliable, and standing in the way of Democrats bringing California's disastrous energy… pic.twitter.com/jjjdjcZ6h4

Jones also released a statement with the same concern, encouraging voters to make their voices heard and use their electoral power. He stated that he had proudly voted for Echols and Johnson, claiming that they were proven leaders with the ability to keep Georgia moving forward.
It’s #ElectionDay ! Polls are open — so grab your ID, head to your precinct, and make your voice heard.
