State Representative Mandi Ballinger Passes Away After Battle With Cancer

State Representative Mandi Ballinger (R) has passed away after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Ballinger represented the 23rd district, chaired the Judiciary Juvenile Committee, and served on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Transportation, and Reapportionment and Redistricting committees. 

House Speaker Jon Burns (R) released a statement on the loss of Ballinger, commenting on her unwavering resilience and utmost dedication. Burns also remarked on her leadership and commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us.

Governor Brian Kemp (R) released a statement, mourning the loss of Ballinger and remembering her as a passionate leader who was respected across the political aisle. Kemp also remarked on her service to the State of Georgia and its considerable impact on issues like juvenile justice and domestic violence.

Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones (R) expressed heartbreak over the announcement, remarking on Ballinger’s honorable and dignified service to Georgia. Jones also stated that he had the honor of working with her and called for people to pray for her family. 

Attorney General Chris Carr expressed sadness over Ballinger’s passing and stated that she was a dedicated servant to the vulnerable people of Georgia. Carr remarked on her work to combat human trafficking and called for people to lift her family in prayers.
