Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R) feud with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) continues after Greene’s new statement expressing empathy for the people of Gaza. AIPAC responded by comparing her to the infamous congressional members of "The Squad," claiming that she spreads the same message.

Rep. Greene’s initial statement essentially asked people how they would feel if they were in the position of the Gazans. She claims that Gazans have lost so much, and yet the world is silent to their suffering and won’t come to their aid.

She clarifies her position, stating, “Does Hamas deserve it? Yes. Do innocent people and children deserve it? No. The innocent people in Gaza did not kill and kidnap the innocent people in Israel on Oct 7th.”

Greene concludes that Americans should have compassion for Gazans and states, “I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to pay for genocide in a foreign country against a foreign people for a foreign war that I had nothing to do with.”

AIPAC couldn’t let this go and claimed that Greene is implementing the same rhetorical strategy as the Squad. To AIPAC, it’s the same message, legislation, and anti-Israel position.

They stated, “The horrible war is only happening because Hamas refuses to free the hostages & surrender power. Yet, MTG and her friends in the Squad won’t take any action to pressure Hamas to end it. Why?”

Greene responded quite simply, calling the group ‘liars’ and asking them if they had registered under FARA as foreign agents. Alongside this, she posted a screenshot of FARA’s description and alleged that they are actively breaking the law.

Former congressman Matt Gaetz weighed in to defend Greene, claiming that AIPAC is desperate and that they have ‘overplayed their hand.’ He is under the impression that the group has inadvertently revealed its weakness, namely, growing bipartisan opposition.

Gaetz then claims that Greene is not an outlier, given that support for Israel is at a historic low. As far as he is concerned, AIPAC is to blame for that because of its endless support for war and intervention.

Gaetz then concludes by stating, “They should register as the foreign agents they are. I proudly stand with MTG and my fellow AMERICANS.”
