Sen. Jon Ossoff (D) has just welcomed his second child with his partner, Dr. Alisha Kramer. Rep. Buddy Carter (R) has enhanced his Senate run with a new campaign ad and fundraising initiative.
In an official statement from Ossoff’s office, it revealed that Dr. Kramer and the child were doing well. Sen. Ossoff now has two daughters. He also thanked everyone for the well wishes and prayers.
In stark contrast to this news, Rep. Carter’s messaging has been centered on attacking Ossoff’s reputation. Carter began by launching a new campaign ad where a liberal transgender person complains about him.
The transgender person criticizes Carter for being a Trump loyalist and opposing the trans movement. They then state that they will campaign for Ossoff because he has done so much for them.
The point of the ad is to display the kind of person who opposes Carter’s Senate run. It paints them as abnormal and not what the average Georgian is like.
Second, Carter advertised the fundraising website for his campaign. He asked people to chip in $5 or $10 and called Ossoff a ‘Ken Doll wannabe.’ He also reiterated how his bid for Senate is the only way for Georgia’s voice in the Senate to be restored.
Finally, Carter posted a meme image about Ossoff’s voting record. The image stated that he preferred to vote for radical liberal policies and not Georgian values.
Carter explained, “Jon Ossoff keeps siding with his radical pals in DC instead of the Georgians who elected him. He’s not leading. He’s following the loudest voices in Washington, no matter how far off course they are.”
Carter repeated that Georgia needs a Senator with a backbone. His strategy seems to have taken on a ruthless edge. The campaign so far has only made an effort to differentiate Carter from Ossoff.
Of course, voters already know the difference. At some point, the campaign is likely to shift and focus more on policy improvements and proper representation.
