Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) and Andrew Clyde (R) expressed their frustrations over the handling of the one big, beautiful bill (OBBB) by the Senate, taking issue with certain provisions that have been stripped out and the lack of urgency by the Senate to vote on the bill as a whole.ย ย

First, Rep. Greene reiterated her concerns with provisions that had been stripped over the use of Medicaid by illegal immigrants. She has now resolved to vote โ€˜NOโ€™ on the bill, but is still committed to implementing Trumpโ€™s campaign promises.ย

Greene stated, โ€œBut we do not need to pass a One Big Beautiful Bill that continues to fund sex changes on kids, Medicare and Medicaid for illegals, and destroys federalism!!!โ€ย

Rep. Clyde expressed similar frustration over the same provisions and commented, โ€œThis insanity is a slap in the face to the American people and defies our mandate to ELIMINATE waste, fraud, and abuse.โ€ย

The Senate Parliamentarian also stripped provisions repealing taxes from the National Firearms Act and the registration of suppressors. Clyde worked to insert these provisions into the OBBB, so his frustration is understandable.ย

Clyde responded on X, โ€œIโ€™m NOT giving up. We have an opportunity to rewrite this language and try again. Stay tuned.โ€

On top of this, the Senate was supposed to vote on the OBBB, then pivoted to a War Powers Resolution. It functions as a referendum on President Trump, but comes days after the conflict with Iran had settled down.ย

Greene responded to this with frustration and asked, โ€œWho in the hell is running the Senate?โ€ In response to her question, Greene then criticized Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R) for allowing the vote schedule to change.ย

Greene also blames Sen. Thune for allowing the Senate Parliamentarian to strip out key provisions from the bill. Greene alleges that as Senate Majority Leader, Thune has the power to overrule and fire the Senate Parliamentarian.ย

Greene brutally concluded, โ€œWe need leaders with courage not weak men who refuse to use their power in order to do the right thing!!!โ€
