President Trump recently signed two bills sponsored by Georgia congressmen. Both bills sought to repeal Biden-era regulation. The first was sponsored by Rep. Brian Jack, and the second was sponsored by Rep. Andrew Clyde.
First, Jack’s bill was H.J. Resolution 20. This bill acted as a formal disapproval of a rule submitted by the Department of Energy.
The rule related to an energy conservation program that created standards for consumer gas-fired instantaneous water heaters.
In effect, the new rule attempted to ban tankless natural gas water heaters. Jack celebrated the signing of the bill on X.
Jack expressed how it would save jobs and help put America first by preserving its manufacturing. He stated, “Thank you, President Trump, for signing into law our legislation that REPEALS a job-killing Biden regulation that endangered a manufacturing plant in our Congressional District!”
Brian Jack prioritized this issue by inviting the Secretary of Energy to Spalding County for a manufacturing facility tour. His work on this issue paid off when that bill got signed.
Next, Clyde’s bill was H.J. Resolution 42. This bill also acted as a formal disapproval of another rule submitted by the Department of Energy.
The rule is related to the same energy conservation program. For this rule, it applies certification requirements, labeling requirements, and enforcement provisions for certain commercial products.
In effect, the rule simply applied more red tape to the production and distribution process of certain appliances.
Clyde celebrated the passage of the bill on X. He lauded the bill as a victory for American consumers burdened by high prices.
Clyde stated, “President Trump just signed my bill, H.J.Res. 42, into law to overturn a Biden-era rule that placed unnecessary red tape on manufacturers, limited consumer choice, and increased prices for hardworking Americans.”
Georgia congressmen have been working to build up a track record of reliability and dependability. Pro-consumer bills like these will only ease the burdens faced by everyday Georgians.
