Former President Joe Biden has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Georgia lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have rallied to support him.ย
Bidenโs cancer has been described as aggressive since it has metastasized to the bone. In a statement from his office, it was revealed that Biden would be seeking treatment.ย
Thankfully, this form of cancer appears to be hormone sensitive. This means that treatment will be effective and help manage symptoms.ย
Georgia Lawmakers at the state and federal levels have come out on X to support him. First, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) called for prayers and expressed how she can relate to the pain of such an announcement.ย
Greene commented, โIโm sorry to see this news. Cancer is truly awful.ย My Dad passed away in 2021 with cancer.โ
Second, Rep. Rich McCormick (R) responded by also calling for prayers. He responded to the news, โPrayers to former President Biden as he tackles this health challenge.ย America is behind you in this fight, sir.โย
Third, Rep. Hank Johnson expressed his sadness at the news and said that he would keep Biden in his prayers. Johnson continued, โWe are keeping him and the rest of the Biden family in our thoughts and prayers. President Biden has always been a fighter and we wish him a full and healthy recovery.โย
Fourth, Senator Raphael Warnock (D) prayed for Biden and his family to be strong as he enters treatment. Warnock continued, โDuring decades of public service, Joe Biden has been a fierce champion in some of the biggest fights. I know heโll bring the same tenacity to his own battle with cancer.โ
Finally, Gov. Brian Kemp called for prayers for Biden and his family. Kemp continued, โAll Georgians send our sincere wishes to former President Biden for successful treatments and a full recovery.โย
At Dome Politics, we will also keep the former President and his family in our prayers as he enters this challenging time.
