Georgia General Assembly Tackles Transgender Issues and Passes Other Bills on Industry and Regulation
Various committees of the Georgia General Assembly passed a number of different bills. The most notable ones addressed issues related to transgenderism. The House focused on that issue while the Senate addressed other problems.
First, the House Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee passed a new resolution. House Resolution (HR) 368 creates a joint study committee on intoxicating cannabinoids in consumable hemp products.
Second, the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee passed two different bills. They began with House Bill (HB) 449.
This bill would subject certain companies providing water services to regulation by the Public Service Commission. It focuses on regulating the activity of private entities. It passed to the Rules Committee.

Republicans Circle Wagons Around Trump Admin After Chat Leak
Republican lawmakers are defending President Donald Trump’s administration as they face criticism for enabling a leak of military information after granting a journalist access to a private channel used by top defense and intelligence officials.
The Atlantic’s Editor in Chief Jeffrey Goldberg recently claimed he was added to a Signal chat with top Trump administration officials where they discussed the US’ recent strikes on Houthi targets.
The US has recently ramped up strikes against the Houthis, an Iran-backed Yemeni terror group that has been targeting US, Israeli, and allies’ ships since Hamas’ October 7th, 2023 attacks.
The National Security Council reportedly confirmed Goldberg had access to the Signal chat and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz admitted responsibility for granting Goldberg access.
