After Senate Democrats successfully blocked the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, it was quickly found out that Georgia Senators, Jon Ossoff (D) and Raphael Warnock (D), voted against it.ย

If passed, the bill would have prohibited federally funded schools from allowing transgender athletes to compete with biological females. It failed to garner 60 majority votes and was filibustered by a vote of 51-45.ย

GA Republicans were especially furious to learn that our Democratic Senators voted against the bill. Governor Brian Kemp (R) expressed his disappointment on X stating, โ€œMen should not play in womenโ€™s sports. The people of Georgia know that and our Senators should too.โ€

Representative Rich McCormick (R) also let his disapproval be known by stating how the senators put their radical agenda ahead of common sense. He stated, โ€œJon @ossoff has no problem putting the leftโ€™s radical agenda ahead of our daughters and common sense.ย  We wonโ€™t let him forget.โ€

Representative Mike Collins (R) saved his opinion for the State of the Union Address when Jon Ossoff could be seen on camera expressing his disapproval for President Trumpโ€™s speech. Collins jokingly posted a picture of Ossoff and captioned it with, โ€œWhen the President starts talking about keeping men out of girl's sports.โ€ย

Lt. Gov. Burt Jones (R) made his message loud and clear on X about how the senators had voted against the will of the American people. He stated. โ€œSenate Democrats - including both of our Georgia Senators - voted against common sense, women and the overwhelming will of the American people.โ€

He also reminded people that these Senators only have so much time before they run for reelection. Jones goes on to imply that voting records like these will negatively impact the reelection campaigns of Ossoff and Warnock. He continued, โ€œWeโ€™ll fix it in GA with Senate Bill 1 and weโ€™ll fix one of our Senators next November. Men should not play in womenโ€™s sports. Period.โ€
