Hours before the State Department released the above message, the USAID headquarters was shut down, per Newsweek. Rep. Greene was delighted in this notion, and helped Americans remember that she led a bill to defund USAID less than a year ago. Less than half of House Republicans voted for the proposition, and not a single Democrat was in favor.
