‘Shameful’ Release of Yemeni Terrorists Angers Greene

Right as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) warns that Islamic terrorism is a major threat to the United States, President Joe Biden (D) releases 11 Yemeni terrorists from Guantanamo Bay. The release of the Yemeni terrorists has triggered a response from outraged Republicans like Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R), who called it a “shameful” move.

In a stunning move that has shocked the political world, the Biden Administration has transferred 11 Yemeni prisoners to Oman. The prisoners were captured after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

With their release, 15 prisoners, facing a range of charges related to the 9/11 terrorist attack, remain in Guantanamo Bay.

Responding to the release, Rep. Greene took to social media to call the transfer “shameful,” adding that “releasing Islamic terrorists who would kill every American in the name of their god is a dangerous endorsement of terrorism.”

Calling it “wrong” and “reckless,” she added that “it IS an insult to the memories of those who died on 9/11, every terrorist attack against Americans, victims on Jan 1, 2025, in New Orleans, and our GREAT American military members who died fighting against terrorism.”

The transfers were originally planned for October 2023, but the order was halted due to concerns over instability in the Middle East after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th.

U.S. Defense Department records show that all 11 prisoners are former al-Qaeda members, but many of them dispute the U.S. accounts of their membership.

Oman, where the prisoners are being transferred to, has agreed to help resettle the prisoners as well as provide security monitoring.

Governor DeSantis recently warned about the threat of Islamic terrorism, noting that President Donald Trump (R) ensured the country was safer during his first administration.

“Donald Trump came in and was very strong against ISIS,” the governor said. “If you look at where we are now after four years of Biden, we’re in way worse shape than we were even under Barack Obama.”
